Hand Painted Paper Art Journals One of my favourite creations. I take a sheet of recycled brown paper, put it through a number of various processes including: painting with dyes, inks, paints and other materials and then seal and wax it. I am constantly surprised by the beautiful results as the different materials react with and against each other. The sealing and waxing processes ensure that the final piece is strong and durable yet flexible. See The Art of Recycling for photos.
The maximum number of journals from any one piece is usually 5, and as each section of the paper has it's own characteristics - no two are ever the same.
The texture and look and feel create a lot of conversation!
