Rhythmica ~ The dance of ink and pen
It begins with a quiet realisation that the pointed pen was never meant to be forced—it is meant to move. When held with sensitivity, the nib responds like a living thing. Pressure becomes weight. Release becomes breath. Lines no longer sit still on the page. They move. And create a beautiful rhythm dance of artistic beauty.
And so began my creation of this artform during Lockdown in 2020, when we needed an outlet for the anxiety felt during these times. This became mine.
And it's also the ideal expression for beginners as there's little restriction or rigidity. Just beautiful play with pen, ink and paper.
I encourage you to join me in this beautiful artform and explore the technique that I've named Rhythymica - the dance of ink and pen. We'll be working with beautiful Walnut Ink - yes really made from the skin of walnuts. Simply delightful!
I look forward to welcoming you to class. Let's play!
All materials provided. Just bring your joy for learning and sense of curiosity.
